Texas Girls & Boys Ranch welcomed its first child in 1975. Since then, the organization has continued to grow and evolve in response to the changing needs of children, families, and communities across our region. Learn more about our story.
Facilities have expanded. Programs have been created. Professional services have grown. New approaches to trauma-informed and child-centered care have been adopted.
But the heart behind the work has remained remarkably consistent.
For more than 50 years, generations of staff members, foster and adoptive families, volunteers, donors, community partners, churches, businesses, and friends have helped make this work possible.
Together, they have built something much larger than a Ranch. They have built a community of people committed to showing up for children when it matters most.

Through counseling, foster care and adoption services, family resources, and ongoing support, TXGBR works alongside parents, caregivers, foster families, adoptive families, and others who play an important role in a child’s life.

Growing up comes with challenges for every young person. For youth who have experienced foster care, trauma, instability, or disrupted relationships, that transition can be especially difficult.
